About the role:
Western Health Medical Imaging seeks Diagnostic Radiologists and/or Interventional Radiologists for Full Time and Part Time contracts on an ongoing or temporary basis to commence as soon as possible or no later than February 2027. A day session is equivalent to 8 hours for a part time role and 10 hours for those on full time. Fixed term hours available due Maternity Leave and Sabbatical Leave cover. Locum/Casual options are also available for ad hoc cover and backlog reporting where necessary.
The role of the Diagnostic Clinical Radiologist is to provide high quality Radiology services to the patients of Western Health and its external referrers.
Key responsibilities:
Western Health Medical Imaging (WHMI) provides state-of-the-art comprehensive Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology services to one of the most culturally dynamic and rapidly expanding growth corridors in Australia serving a population of over one million. WHMI is an accredited Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) Registrar teaching facility.
Subspecialty training in one of the following areas of Imaging is mandatory: Body, Chest (including cardiac imaging), Breast (including MRI), Musculoskeletal, Neurology, Nuclear Medicine (including PET), Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics. Ability to report MRI studies is also mandatory. The Radiologist must be competent in performing Tier A procedures and is a mandatory requirement. The role of the Interventional Radiologist requires the candidate to be adaptive, team focused and proactive. For the subspecialty of Obstetrics, Sonologists wishing to apply will be highly considered due to our increasing service delivery and demands in this field.
About you:
- A medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) which his recognised for registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Registration by AHPRA as Clinical Radiologist with a current annual practicing certificate
- Fellowship of the FRANZCR) in clinical radiology, including maintenance of CPD and good standing as required by AHPRA for the maintenance of Specialist Registration
- Membership of the Interventional Radiology Society of Australasia (IRSA) – Interventional Radiologist specific
- Possession of or commitment to complete European Board of Interventional Radiology qualification – Interventional Radiologist specific
- Fellowship training in Interventional Radiology – Interventional Radiologist specific
- Valid radiation licence
- Fellow of RANZCOG – Sonologist specific
- Recognised qualifications in Gynaecology and Obstetric Ultrasound, such as the RANZCOG Certificate in Maternal Fetal Medicine (CMFM) or equivalent OR the Certificate of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Ultrasound (COGU) or Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU) – Sonologist specific
- Relevant clinical experience and clinical competence required for level of position – Sonologist specific
