Williamstown Emergency Department is looking for Senior Mecical Officers to provide clinical leadership and management of patients and undertake clinical duties under the supervision and direction of the Department Head or the Senior Medical Officer in Charge.  The Senior Medical Offcer - Emergency Medicine, will provide high quality clinical emergency care to patients attending the Emergency Department as well as providing support and supervision to junior medical staff.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

Essential

  • Current medical registration with AHPRA without any restrictions
  • 1 year or greater experience in an Australian ED at registrar level
  • 3 months or greater expereince in a paediatric ED
  • Current ALS qualification
  • Clinical competence as required for level of position
  • Ability to work as part of a team and supervise junior medical staff
  • Committment to professional development

 

Desirable

  • 3 months or greater experience in an anaesthetics rotation; feels comfortable in managing non-difficult intubation and ventilation management
  • 3 months or greater experience in an intensive care rotation; feels comfortable in managing patients in Non-Invasis Ventilation
  • Current APLS qualification
  • Ability to lead an adult or paediatric resuscitation
  • Australasian College of Emergency Medicine Certificate or Diploma
