About the role
Western Health is currently seeking applications for the 2026 Graduate Diploma of Midwifery – Clinical Placements. Western Health has an excellent reputation for providing Graduate Diploma of Midwifery students a supported program, rotating to the relevant areas of Maternity Services in order to successfully complete the clinical component of their degree.
About the program:
- Full Time - 6 days a fortnight as a student across all areas of Maternity (not employed/not paid)
- Part Time - 3 days a fortnight as a student across all areas of Maternity (not employed/not paid)
- Students will be rostered as per a rotating roster
- Successful places are subject to acceptance from University offering a place in their Graduate Diploma of Midwifery - 2026
About you:
- Must be planning to study the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery in 2026
- Must be eligible to work as a Registered Nurse in Australia in 2026
- Must have 2 years experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute setting
Applicants please note: The Paid Employment Model is yet to be confirmed for 2026. Please indicate in your cover letter, expression of interest in completing the employment model (six days per fortnight employed as a Registered Nurse in the Postnatal Unit and paid clinical placement). Please contact your relevant university regarding the theoretical component as the structure varies between education providers around clinical placements and concurrent theory time. All assignments and exams are also set by each university.
