About the role:

The Allied Health Assistant (Social Work) works alongside and under the guidance of qualified Social Workers to support the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centred care. In this role, you will assist with a variety of clinical support and administrative tasks that help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the Social Work department and contribute to the broader multidisciplinary team.

 

You will work closely with patients and their families, using clear communication, practical skills and a compassionate approach to support positive health and wellbeing outcomes. This role may involve working across Western Health sites, depending on service needs and organisational priorities.

 

Key responsibilities: 

  •  Support Social Workers in the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care, including assisting with delegated patient related and administrative tasks
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families and members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the Social Work department and participate in team and service improvement activities
  • Work flexibly across sites and service areas as required, in line with organisational needs
