About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity available for a dedicated, experienced, caring and highly motivated Anaesthetic Associate Nurse unit Manager to join the Perioperative Leadership Team in the Operating Suite at Williamstown Hospital Theatre. Surgery Endoscopy Anasthesia Services (SEAS) is responsible for the provision of predominantly elective and some emergency surgical care. With an emphasis on increasing the number of patients admitted on the day of surgery. You must be available for a 5 day a week roster (AM & PM)

 

Williamstown Hospital - Operating suite is a busy department comprising of Day of Surgery Admissions with 4 Operating Theatres. It provides an elective surgery service for Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, and General Surgery.

 

The Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM), under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality patient care. The ANUM will support and assist the Nurse Unit Manager, as well as providing mentoring and leadership to the Nursing Team.

 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Be proactive about identifying and addressing issues that interfere with patients receiving Best Care
  • Understand their broad responsibility for safety and quality in health care

 

Clinical responsibilities:

  • Maintain anaesthetic/PACU and management skills
  • Acts as a clinical role model by providing the highest standard of direct patient care
  • Supervises, directs, and supports nursing staff in clinical practice
  • Has experience and is able to take on a floor co-ordination role
  • Supporting NUM

 

About you: 

  • Demonstrated evidence of undertaking professional development activities to maintain and enhance nursing expertise/management
  • Can communicate effectively with all team members
  • Relevant theatre experience/post grad desirable
  • Have experience and is able to take on a floor coordination role
