About the role:

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled and values driven Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to provide leadership within our Reproductive Choices (abortion care) service.

 

This is a pivotal role for an experienced Women’s Health Nurse/Midwife who is committed to delivering safe, evidence-based, person-centred abortion care within a supportive and multidisciplinary environment. The Reproductive Choices Service provides medical and surgical abortions and works closely with medical, social work, nursing and admin staff. The ideal candidate will have experience discussing options and caring for patients seeking termination.

 

Key responsibilities:

As an ANUM, or Associate Unit Manager (AUM), you will:

  • Support the operational, clinical and professional leadership of the service.
  • Ensure high quality care, guide and mentor staff, and contribute to service development across the Women’s Health program.
  • Assist in managing the nursing and related resources
  • Act as a role model in setting the clinical standards
  • Assume the responsibilities and authority of the Operations Manager in their absence
  • Play a key role in supporting abortion care pathways – the AUM must provide evidence-based knowledge to the termination of pregnancy service within women’s health across Western Health

 

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent clinical experience
  • Demonstrated skills in Women’s Health nursing
  • Strong leadership and management capability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to safe, high-quality, person-centred abortion care
  • Experience within Women’s Health
  • Valid Australian working rights
  • Strong preference for previous abortion or sexual health clinical experience
