About the role
Western Health is seeking an experienced and motivated Improvement Specialist to support Safer Together Program (STP) initiatives across the organisation. This role focuses on coaching and partnering with clinical project teams to design, deliver and sustain improvement outcomes using structured improvement methodology. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will guide projects from initiation through to evaluation, ensuring strong methodology, effective measurement, and meaningful impact on patient care.
Key responsibilities:

Coach and support STP project teams to apply improvement methodology to their work

Partner with clinical and operational teams to plan, deliver and evaluate initiatives

Facilitate workshops and training to build improvement capability

Support data-informed decision making and reporting

Collaborate across services to sustain outcomes
About you:

Significant experience in healthcare quality improvement and change management, with strong knowledge of improvement methodologies including the IHI Model for Improvement and PDSA cycles.

Proven ability to coach, mentor and facilitate multidisciplinary teams, building improvement capability and engaging stakeholders to deliver sustainable change.

Demonstrated success managing multiple projects concurrently, using data and measurement to inform decisions, monitor outcomes and drive improvement.

Relevant tertiary qualification in health, social sciences or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

Western Health also provides the primary healthcare service at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, a women’s prison located in Ravenhall.
