Blood Management CNC/Medical Scientist
Western Health is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Nurse Consultant or Medical Scientist to join the Blood Management team, based at Footscray Hospital (relocating to the New Footscray Hospital in 2025). Permanent part-time and fixed term positions available.
The Blood Management role is pivotal in supporting the safe and effective use of blood and blood products across Western Health.
Being the right person for this position, you will have haematology and/or blood bank knowledge and experience and strong leadership skills. You will have well-developed interpersonal skills, experience with networking and influencing others and a keen interest in understanding the complexity of blood management and the challenges now and into the future.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with AHPRA or Medical Scientist with Bachelor of Applied Science / Psychophysiology / Biomedical Science, or similar
- Recent haematology or blood bank experience and knowledge
- Demonstrated well developed interpersonal and communications skills including leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team
- Ability to use management information systems for auditing and reporting
- Health sector experience and knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures pertinent to blood management
- Be innovative, resourceful and adaptable to change
