An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and dynamic Oncology Research Nurse to join the Cancer Services Clinical Trials Unit at Sunshine Hospital.

 

Cancer Services at Sunshine Hospital has a dedicated team of Research Nurses and Trial Coordinators administering phase 1-4 Oncology and Haematology trials. If you are dedicated to improving cancer patient’s outcomes, passionate about caring for cancer patients and their families and would like to be involved in the development of new drugs, enjoy working independently but as part of a dynamic team this is the job for you.

To be successful in this role, you have:

  • A medical science, nursing or equivalent degree
  • Will have experience in coordination of clinical trials and/or an understanding of cancer research
  • Will have knowledge of the clinical trials and research frame work in Australia and internationally
  • Have excellent communication, collaboration and time management skills

 

Desirable Experience:

  • Nursing experience in Oncology/Haematology including administration of cytotoxic drugs
  • Cannulation and venepuncture skills
  • EVIQ chemotherapy administration competency
  • 2 years post graduate oncology experience
  • Post graduate qualification in cancer nursing or trials management or working towards is desirable
  • Have sound knowledge of database management
