We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Allied Health Assistants to join our Physiotherapy team and work in a Grade 2 AHA casual capacity in 2025. 

 

About the role    

As an AHA at Western Health you will work with our acute or subacute teams to provide care to patients with a variety of clinical presentations to improve their function, mobility and quality of life. Our positions are well supported by experienced and dedicated Allied Health Assistants and Physiotherapists and will enable you to work with the multidisciplinary team to provide excellent patient centred care. In this role you will provide individual therapy sessions; assist Physiotherapy staff in co-treatment sessions; and take with other responsibilities which may include the management of equipment or administrative tasks. Our department is friendly and supportive, and this is an excellent opportunity to join our extensive AHA and Physiotherapy team in a well-supported role.

To be Successful in this Role you will 

  • Have a Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant qualification or other appropriate equivalent qualification. Physiotherapy students with an AHA certificate are welcome to apply. Experience working in the hospital setting is highly desirable 

  • Have excellent communication skills 

  • Be willing to learn and be committed to providing excellent patient care 

  • Be adaptable and flexible 

  • Work well within a team environment to assist patients, and AHA and Physiotherapy staff 

  • Ensure safe and high-quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies, as instructed by Physiotherapy staff 

  • Contribute to a culture that values ongoing learning and be part of a positive workplace
