An opportunity exists for a cleaner to join our Health Support Services team at the Western Health Central Production Kitchen in Altona, providing quality and nutritionally balanced meals to hospitals and councils’ delivered meals program.  The position is part time, 35 hours/fortnight. Monday to Friday 3.5hrs per shift.

Reporting to the Team Leader, the successful applicant will be part of a dynamic team contributing to the achievement of the effective operations of the Central Food Production Kitchen. 

 

They will be responsible for the deep cleaning of the facility after production. Depending on the area allocated; cleaning tasks may include complex equipment such as the soup and sauce filler, plating belt, sealing machines, retorts and cooking equipment, sinks, benchtops, washers, floors, drains, walls, ceilings, chillers, freezers, yards and surrounds amongst others. Waste disposal (clearing rubbish bins from production area and tearoom frequently) and driving a forklift (if licensed) to move skip bins (general waste and recycling) from the chute area when full and replace with an empty bin. Chemical handling knowledge is required and PPE must be worn when using and refilling chemicals.
