About the role:

We are seeking motivated individuals who enjoy working collaboratively to join the clerical team within the Record and Information Services department at Western Health. This role is responsible for assisting with the storage, protection, scanning and provision of medical records including medical record documentation required to support patient care at Western Health, ensuring client information is available in a timely and accurate manner. We are a large health service, and this requires services to continue after hours and on weekends and therefore flexibility in availability is essential.

 

We have multiple roles available and will consider Part Time, Full Time or casual employment. Please clearly indicate preference on submission of application.

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Preparation and scanning of documentation into the scanned medical record (Bossnet)
  • Archive scanned documents according to department guidelines
  • Processing Request for Information (ROI) applications to ensure other hospitals and health professionals have requested patient information available in a timely manner
  • Participation in quality assurance activities to maintain high accuracy standards and support safe, high-quality patient care

 

About you: 

  • Previous experience in a medical record department or health information service.  
  • Effective time management skills with proven ability to manage own workload and deliver results  
  • Strong communication skills with a strong customer focus 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers as part of a team to achieve successful outcomes 
  • Demonstrated ability, or ability to rapidly learn hospital computer systems and have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package
  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of privacy and confidentiality 
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and proven ability to be flexible and adaptable in an office environment
