Project Overview:
As the Clinical Research Advisor, you will provide expert General Practitioner advice and collaboration for primary care-based projects and research delivered by Western Health and its partners. A key focus will be the 100,000 Lives - Future Health Today Project, a collaboration between Western Health and the University of Melbourne, funded by Safer Care Victoria.

 

This project aims to implement the Future Health Today (FHT) clinical decision support software in 40 general practices within the Western Health catchment over a two-year period. You will play a crucial role in supporting primary care engagement, project implementation, and contributing to data analysis, reporting, and education development.

 

Key Responsibilities:
•    Provide expert clinical advice on primary care-based research projects and human ethics applications.
•    Engage and collaborate with general practices to support the implementation of the FHT software.
•    Provide input into data analysis, reporting, and interpretation and dissemination of findings.
•    Assist in the development and delivery of educational activities and resources for primary care.
•    Work closely with key stakeholders, including the GP Liaison Unit, project teams, and academic partners.
•    Attend stakeholder meetings and provide project summaries for Western Health communications to primary care.
•    Ensure compliance with Western Health policies and ethical research guidelines.

 

To be Successful in this Role, you will have:
Essential:

•    Medical qualification with current Australian medical registration.
•    Relevant clinical experience in general practice.
•    Demonstrated ability to engage collaboratively with healthcare stakeholders.
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•    Effective organizational and problem-solving skills.
•    Commitment to professional development and quality improvement in primary care.

 

Desirable:
•    Experience in primary care-based quality improvement projects.
•    Research experience, including ethics applications and project planning.
•    Knowledge of healthcare challenges within Western Health's catchment.
•    Experience advising government agencies or stakeholders on quality improvement initiatives.
