About the role:

Education & Learning is seeking a highly motivated, confident, organised, supportive, and friendly leader to join our team in the position of Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) on the Footscray Campus in the specialty of General Medicine.

As a General Medical CNE, you will be expected to work with the Education team to develop educational materials and provide clinical facilitation, education, supervision, consultation and liaison services to nursing staff from undergraduates through to senior nursing staff across the organisation.

 

Key responsibilities: 

Lead, support, direct and motivate nursing staff, providing evidence-based education to increase critical thinking capability 

Develop and deliver contemporary educational material to nursing staff

Provide bedside coaching and support to nursing staff, particularly early career nurses

Collaborate with education team and NUMs to deliver organisational rollouts as required.

 

About you: 

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Possess recent acute clinical skills with advanced clinical knowledge in general medicine
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously in the role 
  • Work across campuses to assist in the delivery of educational programs as required
  • Possess highly developed interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution strategies
  • Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary nursing and education team
  • Possess knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and human resource procedures
  • Be innovative, resourceful and adaptable to change
  • Have recent experience in nursing education and delivery of training
  • Prior experience working as a Clinical Support Nurse
  • Proficient in the use and possesses the ability to troubleshoot ICT systems 
  • Completing or working towards a Master’s qualification with an educational focus (desirable)
  • Experience in a clinical leadership role (desirable)
