Western Health is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to join our dynamic Education team in Perioperative Services. In this pivotal role, you will provide clinical facilitation, education, and mentorship to nursing staff, learning program participants and undergraduate students. As a role model for excellence in patient care, you will help foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and professional growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and support nursing staff in delivering evidence-based, culturally sensitive care. 
  • Develop and implement tailored teaching plans and clinical education sessions. 
  • Act as a mentor and clinical resource across multidisciplinary teams. 
  • Facilitate study days, orientation programs, workshops and continuing education initiatives. 
  • Contribute to policy development, performance management, and program recruitment. 

 

About you:

  • Qualified and Experienced: Registered Nurse in Australia with a Bachelor of Nursing and Postgraduate Qualifications in Perioperative Nursing, plus at least five years of acute care experience. 
  • Clinically Skilled and Knowledgeable: Advanced clinical knowledge, recent acute perioperative clinical skills, and a strong understanding of current issues in nursing practice. 
  • Educator and Communicator: Experience in nursing education and training delivery, with excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills. Recent experience in a formal Clinical Education role is highly desirable. 
  • Collaborative and innovative: Able to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams, with proficiency in ICT systems and a flexible, innovative approach to change and improvement.
