About the Role:

The Emergency Department Clinical Nurse Instructor (CNI) is responsible for providing support and mentorship to nursing staff in the New Footscray Hospital Emergency Department. This position will provide direct expert clinical support and leadership to all nurses in the Emergency Department.

 

The CNI will ensure that support is aimed at the constant improvement of care for the patient whilst increasing the skills and knowledge of emergency nurses to be able to deliver best care.

  • Provide support and mentorship that is aligned with best practice to all nurses following adult learning principles
  • Role model best care and the Western values
  • Highly visible presence in the clinical areas
  • Promote the use of WH policies and procedures at all times
  • Maintain own knowledge of evidenced based practice and participate in your own professional development so that your knowledge and skills remain current and align with best evidence.
  • Provide direct clinical instruction and supervision to develop high quality clinical care skills to all nurses

 

About You:

  • Successful Completion of Bachelor of Nursing Qualification
  • Registered as a Registered Nurse in Australia
  • Strong clinical knowledge and critical thinking
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Adaptability
  • Understanding of adult learning principles
  • Possess a post graduate qualification in a critical care - emergency/intensive care stream
  • Desirable – Certificate IV in training and assessment or post graduate certificate health professional education
