About the role
Western Health has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated pharmacist to join the Surgical and Perioperative Services Pharmacy Team as a Grade 2 Clinical Pharmacist – Surgical Services. This position is permanent, full-time (80 hours per fortnight) and available from 01/07/2025.
This is an exciting opportunity for a clinical pharmacist to develop expertise and advance their career in the Surgical and Perioperative specialties.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Pharmacist – Surgical Services and Senior Pharmacist – Perioperative Services in providing surgical and perioperative pharmacy services across Western Health.
- Actively participate in service development, including contributions to departmental projects, research activities, and quality improvement initiatives aimed at improving surgical and perioperative services.
- Work collaboratively across the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care within the surgical and perioperative settings.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a clinical pharmacist across a range of clinical areas, with rotation exposure in surgical, medical and cardiology specialties.
- Apply expert professional knowledge to optimise patient outcomes through safe and effective use of medicines.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm in contributing to departmental educational and operational initiatives, including quality improvement activities, audits, and practice-based research.
- Display excellent communication, interpersonal, and information technology skills.
- Have strong clinical judgement and problem-solving skills.
