About the role 

Western Health’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Service is seeking a committed mental health clinician to join our Central Community Team in Sunshine. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment that prioritises collaboration and professional growth.

This position is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Clinical Psychologists with at least two years of relevant experience Clinical Psychologist endorsement is supported if required.

Key responsibilities: 

As a Mental Health Clinician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing evidence-based care and interventions to clients experiencing psychiatric conditions.
  • Coordinating the medical, psychosocial, and legal aspects of care to support recovery.
  • Developing and maintaining client-centred care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and service providers.
  • Contributing to the team by sharing expertise, participating in case reviews, and fostering a collaborative approach to care.
  • Supporting the development of innovative practices to meet the evolving needs of the community.

We are seeking a clinician who:

  • Has a minimum of two years’ experience in a mental health setting
  • Demonstrates strong skills in mental state and risk assessments.
  • Is knowledgeable in evidence-based mental health care and therapeutic practices.
  • Communicates effectively and empathetically with clients, carers, and team members.
  • Works well within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining the ability to operate independently.
  • Has knowledge of mental health legislation and policies.
  • Is committed to professional development and improving outcomes for mental health consumers.
