Western Health is seeking to appoint a temporary Consultant Neonatologist (Leave Cover) to join the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Joan Kirner Women’s & Children’s (JKWC) Sunshine Hospital.

With a current birth rate of 6500+ babies annually and a projected birth rate of 7500+ over the next 5 to 10 years, Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Neonatal Service will become a world class facility supporting high quality, evidence based, family centred care.

The NICU and Special Care Nursery (SCN) at JKWC Sunshine Hospital is one of five ‘Level 6’ Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Victoria. This role will be involved in the development and expansion of a newborn services in the Melbourne’s west. This position provides the successful applicant with an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic neonatology team comprising nine neonatologists supporting the Head of Unit to drive the development of a new neonatal intensive care unit and neonatal service at Western Health.

This opportunity would suit a neonatologist with a demonstrated commitment to best patient care, excellence and best practice in NICU service delivery.

 

To be Successful in this Role you

  • Hold current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner/Specialist
  • Hold Fellowship of the RACP (FRACP) or equivalent specialist qualification
