Opportunity for a dynamic Consultant Psychiatrist, Addiction Psychiatrist or Addiction Medicine Specialist to join the team at Westside Lodge.

 

Westside Lodge Dual Diagnosis Rehabilitation Centre provides a therapeutic program for people experiencing co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders who would benefit from an integrated, residential model of care.


Drug Health Services is the Specialist Addiction Service of Western Health, offering innovative and diverse programs that include Specialist programs for Adults, Women’s and Children’s Services, Youth and Family Services, Residential Withdrawal Services and Addiction Medicine Services.

 

The role of the Westside Lodge Consultant is to provide high quality clinical care and clinical leadership for the patients and staff of Westside Lodge and Drug Health Services.

 

This position is a permanent position, available part time.

 

Consultant Psychiatrists may be supported to achieve their advanced certificate in Addiction Psychiatry. 

 

To be Successful in this Role, you will:

  • Have recognised qualifications as a Consultant Psychiatrist (FRANZCP), Advance Certificate in Addiction Psychiatry preferred) or Addiction Medicine (FAChAM).
  • Have well-developed professional communication and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to professional development of self and others.  A demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and delivery of evidence-based best care is essential.  You will contribute to a positive organisational culture and role model professionalism with respect to patient dignity and compassion, effective communication, and ethical clinical care.
  • Actively participate in teaching and supervision of Junior Medical Staff, Medical Students and the broader team.
  • Be involved in service evaluation and audits and will be encouraged to be involved in research activities.
