Lived Experience Worker| Part time - 20hrs per fortnight | St Albans Community Care unit | Western Health

 

We are inviting applications from individuals with Lived Experience, to join our multidisciplinary team at St Albans Community Care Unit. St Albans CCU is a 10-unit complex accommodating 20 beds, with 24-hour nursing care support. It provides recovery-focused rehabilitation in a community residential setting, to consumers who typically have multiple and complex needs. The aim is to increase individual’s psychosocial independence through a variety of person-centred programs to develop daily living skills

 

Lived Experience workers have unique knowledge, abilities and attributes. They draw on their own life-changing experience, service use and their journey of recovery and healing, to support others. They understand the critical need for connection and utilise this expertise to inspire others to find hope.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • The ability to work alongside clinical team
  • The ability Support consumers and carers to feel less isolated during their engagement with services
  • The ability to use your lived experience connection and mutuality discover the individual world views and what’s important to them
  • The ability soften barriers between consumers and clinicians
