About the role 

The Digital Health Internship Program offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated graduate to gain hands-on experience in healthcare digital transformation. Working within Western Health’s Digital Health Team, the intern will contribute to the planning, coordination, and implementation of digital initiatives that enhance patient care, safety, and service delivery. 

 

This role provides exposure to how digital technologies are used to improve healthcare outcomes and how large-scale projects are delivered in a complex health service environment. Supported by experienced professionals, the intern will develop practical workplace skills in communication, collaboration, and problem-solving while contributing to meaningful work that supports Western Health’s mission to provide safe, high-quality, and person-centred care. 

 

The position is ideal for a graduate seeking to build confidence, capability, and a strong foundation for a future career in digital health or healthcare project delivery.  

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Support the delivery of digital health projects through coordination, documentation, and reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of project materials, including meeting papers, dashboards, and communication resources.
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement activities, such as workshops, meetings, and change management initiatives.
  • Contribute to research, analysis, and process improvement activities that support project outcomes.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and teamwork in a dynamic and supportive environment. 

 

About you: 

  • You are a motivated graduate who is eager to learn and contribute to digital transformation in healthcare.
  • Completion or near completion of a tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Digital Health, IT, business, or related disciplines).
  • Strong interest in how digital solutions can improve healthcare delivery and outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Initiative, adaptability, and a proactive approach to learning new systems and processes.
  • Professionalism, reliability, and a positive, growth-oriented mindset.
