About the role:

The West Metro LHSN Director leads a newly established Local Health Service Network spanning Western Health and Mercy Health, responsible for advancing system-wide reform to improve access, equity, quality, and sustainability of care. This is a high-impact leadership role that brings together multiple organisations to deliver more coordinated, patient-centred care closer to home. The Director will drive the Network's strategy and annual priorities, working closely with health service CEOs, government and partners to deliver tangible improvements in outcomes for a fast-growing and diverse community.

 

Note that this role is employed by Western Health as the fund holder and employer of Local Health Service Network staff, on behalf of West Metro LHSN. A formal offer of employment is subject to receipt of funding confirmation.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the strategic direction and delivery of the West Metro LHSN, driving system-wide reform aligned to government priorities
  • Build and maintain strong executive-level partnerships across health services, government and key stakeholders to enable collaboration and shared outcomes
  • Oversee a portfolio of complex, cross-service initiatives, ensuring effective governance, risk management and delivery of results
  • Provide leadership of the LHSN Office, including planning, reporting, workforce management and fostering a high-performing team
  • Manage Network funding, resources and reporting requirements to ensure accountability and achievement of agreed outcomes

 

About you:

  • You are an experienced and credible leader with the ability to operate at a system level and influence across organisational boundaries.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex programs or system reform in health or a related sector
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with the ability to align diverse interests and drive consensus
  • Expertise in governance, risk management and delivering outcomes in complex environments
  • Strategic thinking combined with the ability to translate policy into practical, high-impact delivery
  • A collaborative, values-driven approach and a commitment to improving outcomes for communities
