About the role:

Are you an experienced mental health nurse both clinically and in education. If so there is an exciting opportunity at Western Health for a senior management role in education. This role is responsible for leading the education in mental health and overseeing the undergraduate, graduate and post graduate programs. You will be developing the team that you lead to continue to deliver high quality programs and continually develop evidence based curriculum using contemporary educational methodologies. You will be an enthusiastic, motivated leader who places a high value on kindness and compassion in leadership.

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Lead, support, direct and motivate nursing staff in the provision of high quality, evidence based and culturally sensitive acre
  • Act as a positive role model, coach, mentor and clinical resource through the development of members of the education team
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to direct reports as well as to the wider range of stakeholders including clinical staff of all disciplines, education coordinators, and senior educational leadership.
  • Liaise regularly with clinical settings to foster a positive learning environment and culture of acceptance and inclusion.

 

About you: 

  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA and current practicing certificate
  • 3 years’ experience at RPN5 level
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in clinical education in a mental health setting
  • A minimum of 3 years in a clinical or educational leadership role
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities in encouraging and motivating their team to perform at their best by creating an environment of trust in the team and leading with compassion and kindness
