About the role

Western Health is seeking an experienced and motivated Electrician (Grade 10) to join our Facilities Maintenance team. This role is responsible for the maintenance, repair, testing and installation of electrical systems and infrastructure across multiple Western Health sites.

Working within a healthcare environment, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of essential services, including power distribution systems, emergency power supplies, lighting, building services and critical clinical infrastructure. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, contractors and other trades to support the delivery of high-quality patient care through reliable facility operations.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on electrical infrastructure and building services equipment.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
  • Maintain and test essential services including emergency lighting, generators, UPS systems and switchboards.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors undertaking electrical works across Western Health facilities.
  • Support capital works, refurbishments and infrastructure improvement projects.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and documented within maintenance management systems.

 

About you:

  • Current Victorian A Grade Electrical Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial, industrial or healthcare electrical maintenance environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, electrical safety regulations and essential services compliance requirements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical systems and respond effectively to critical breakdowns.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Current Victorian Driver's Licence and willingness to travel between Western Health sites.
