About the role 

We are seeking motivated individuals with excellent communication and customer service skills to join our team of Emergency Department (ED) Clerks at Sunshine, Footscray and Williamstown campuses. We have both permanent and casual positions available.

 

Key responsibilities: 

ED Clerks are responsible for providing clerical support to patients, families and colleagues. The role often has changing and competing demands- responsibilities include clerical tasks and data entry duties relating to the patient journey through each area of the department, communicating with all relevant teams, facilitating bed allocations, and the maintenance of patient medical records.

 

Our EDs operate 24/7 with indicative shift times: mornings/AMs 0700-1500, afternoons/PMs from 1500-2300, and night duty 2300 to 0700. Applicants willing and able to work night duty are encouraged to apply.

 

About you: 

To be successful in this role, you will have the following attributes and skills:

  • Enjoy working as part of team
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritise duties, work under pressure and ability to adapt to change
  • Excellent communication, customer service and computer skills
  • Knowledge of the health care industry and workflows within Emergency Departments is desirable

Western Health also provides the primary healthcare service at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, a women’s prison located in Ravenhall.
