About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Family Safety Contact Practitioner to deliver high-quality, risk-informed assessment and support to family safety contacts connected to men participating in Behaviour Change and Case Management Programs. Working within a multidisciplinary framework, the role undertakes MARAM-aligned risk assessments, contributes to safety planning and referral pathways, and supports coordinated, client-centred service delivery. You will work in a team that is passionate about the work that it provides for the community.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive risk and needs assessments in line with the MARAM Framework, and contribute to safety planning, referrals, and coordinated support for family safety contacts within Men’s Family Violence Programs.
- Deliver collaborative, client-centred practice by working effectively within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining strong professional relationships, and supporting safe, high-quality service delivery.
- Contribute to service quality and development through accurate documentation and data management, participation in projects and program facilitation, ongoing professional development, and commitment to organisational values and standards.
About you:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or related qualification.
- Meet mandatory minimum qualifications for specialist family violence practitioners, or commitment to meet these requirements within a five year period.
- Demonstrated experience in the specialist family violence field, particularly working with victim survivors of family violence desirable.
- Strong commitment to enhancing the safety of women, children and the community.
Special Condition:
The recruitment for this role is in accordance with Family Safety Victoria’s MBCP Guidelines. The minimum standards apply to all Victorian Government funded MBCPs delivered in the community. The minimum standards establish minimum requirements for program priorities and key components of program design, delivery, evaluation, and staffing. In accordance with 9.5 of the MBCP Guidelines the Family Safety Contact work is undertaken by a female worker. Accordingly only individuals who identify as female will be eligible to apply.
