General Practitioner - Clinical Lead (Custodial Health - Dame Phyllis Frost Centre)

Step into a unique leadership opportunity that blends expert clinical practice with the chance to shape and guide primary care delivery for one of Victoria’s most vulnerable populations. Based at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, this role provides an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a patient cohort marked by complex health needs, trauma and disadvantage. You'll join a dedicated, multidisciplinary team in a progressive model of care that prioritises women's health, chronic disease management and the specific needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Head of Unit and Operations Manager, you will provide clinical oversight, mentorship, and operational support to the General Practitioner group, ensuring high standards of care and service delivery. This is your chance to bring leadership, advocacy, and innovation to custodial health—while still delivering hands-on patient care in a truly rewarding environment.
About You:
To be Successful in this Role, you will:
- Be an experienced General Practitioner with current AHPRA registration and specialist GP qualification (e.g., RACGP, ACRRM)
- Have a background in clinical leadership, workforce development and/or medical service coordination
- Demonstrate strong capability in quality improvement, patient safety systems, and service planning
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, including custodial and community-based services
- Be available for near or full-time hours across the week, with the ability to support on-call services as required
