Instrument Technician Educator
The Central Sterilisation Supply Department (CSSD) at Western Health is seeking a highly motivated and suitably qualified person to join our leadership team as a CSSD Instrument Technician Educator!
As the successful incumbent, you would provide education, support, orientation and in-servicing to CSSD staff to ensure best practice and safe patient oucomes are met, facilitated via the tracking system utilised at Western Health.
In the absence of the Instrument Technician Managers, your managerial skills will support the Departments.
The role reports directly to the CSSD Manager and the Sterilisation Services Manager, whilst working alongside a supportive wider team.
This is a full time, on-going position with rotational shifts.
The Educator will support the CSSDs across the 6 Western Health campuses and will therefore be required to work at all campuses.
To be successful in this role, you will:

Possess the relevant qualifications (Certificate 4 Sterilsation and Certifcate 3 Workplace Training)

Have over 3 years of relevant clinical experience in a busy CSSD/Endoscopy department

Demonstrate effective teaching/education skills appropriate for an educators role

Demonstrate effective communication skills both written and verbal
-
Pocess well developed interpersonal skills including conflict resolution strategies
-
Pocess a knowledge of relevant standards
-
Have a commitment to ongoing education and learning
-
Have a willingness to learn and support the team
-
Have good computer skills
-
Have a commitment to maintaining high quality standards to support safe patient care

Excellent organisational and time management skills, able to multi task
-
Be able to support the managemtn team when required

Have management experience
