Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic medical practitioners to join our team at Western Health in the role of Medical Administration Manager for the 2025 Clinical Year (commencing 3 February 2025).

The position is designed to provide the trainee with exposure to medical management in a large and complex health service environment.

The trainee will work closely with and under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Directors of Medical Services (DMS) as part of the CMO’s Office to achieve organisational and strategic priorities.

The trainee will also work closely with the Medical Workforce and Medical Education Units providing oversight of Interns, HMOs and Registrars (pre-vocational trainees).  This will include assisting with recruitment, retention, rostering, mandatory training, accreditation coordination, improving JMS experience and achieving budget goals.

The trainee will also be exposed to Clinical Governance in a complex multi-campus healthcare setting through participation in accreditation, credentialing, clinical incident review, complaints management and quality improvement activities.

 

To be considered for this role you

  • Must be a registered medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia / Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

  • Must be a candidate trainee of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA)

  • Have a minimum of 3 years general clinical experience (PGY4+)

Salary Range:  $125,000 to $173,000 (base salary per annum).
