We’re seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Medical Education Officer to join our dedicated Medical Education Unit. Based across multiple campuses, this role is essential in supporting the delivery of high-quality education, orientation, and wellbeing support for PGY1–PGY3 doctors and International Medical Graduates (IMGs).

 

Your Impact

As a Medical Education Officer, you’ll coordinate and deliver engaging education programs, simulation, procedural training, and structured orientation activities. You’ll support junior doctors with pastoral care, career guidance, and ensure our training meets national accreditation standards (PMCV, AMC).

Working closely with Directors of Training and the broader Medical Education team, you’ll promote a safe, supportive learning environment while ensuring our doctors feel informed, empowered, and prepared.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and deliver orientation, simulation and procedural skills training
  • Contribute to PGY1–PGY3 and IMG education and career development
  • Support junior doctor wellbeing and act as a confidential point of contact
  • Assist in accreditation preparation and data reporting (PMCV, AMC)
  • Collaborate with clinical educators, supervisors, and Medical Workforce
  • Travel between Western Health campuses to support consistent program delivery

 

What You’ll Bring

✔ Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Allied Health Professional 
✔ Minimum 5 years of acute clinical/education experience
✔ Strong coordination and education delivery skills
✔ Confidence using AV, simulation, and digital teaching tools
✔ Familiarity with medical training frameworks (PMCV, AMC, college requirements)
✔ High-level communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills
✔ A passion for supporting junior clinicians to thrive

Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in clinical education or working toward completion.
