Role Summary: 

 

  • Location: Main - Footscray and Sunshine - Travel to other sites required.

  • Salary: Administration Grade 2 + Superannuation + Salary Packaging 

 

About the role 

We are seeking a motivated individual who enjoys working in a collaborative environment to join the Western Health Medical Records Services team. The purpose of this role is to oversee the Medical Record Services quality and compliance program to make sure that it is conducted and reported in a timely manner.  This role will also work in collaboration with other senior staff across the departments to support daily operations and assist with key project tasks across all Western health sites including Bacchus Marsh Hospital, Melton Health Community Services, Sunshine Hospital, Footscray Hospital and Williamstown Hospital.    

 

Key responsibilities: 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Conduct regular scanning quality assurance activities and investigate any scanning issues identified using the appropriate feedback mechanism. 

  • Provide feedback to scanning staff as part of the quality assurance program including training and education for any gaps identified 

  • Allocate daily scanning quality assurance activities to be performed by scanning staff to ensure that the quality and compliance program is undertaken in a timely manner.  

  • Assisting in the review and update of policies, procedures and guidelines relevant to the functions of the department.  

  • Support practices to assit in medical record information being made available to both internal and external health care providers in a timely and efficient manner, including offsite storage archival process and are followed. 

  • Participate in the Medical Records on call roster, and ensure any additional training needed to be able to participate is completed, e.g BOSSnet or EMR training. 

 

About you: 

  • Previous experience in a medical record department or health information service.  

  • Effective time management skills with proven ability to manage own work load and deliver results  

  • Strong communication skills with a strong customer focus 

  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers as part of a team to achieve successful outcomes 

  • Demonstrated ability, or ability to rapidly learn hospital computer systems and have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office package.  

  • Demonstrated understanding of the importance of privacy and confidentiality 

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and proven ability to be flexible and adaptable in an office environment
