Our paediatric allergy service is seeking an enthusiastic Paediatric Allergist to join our team.

 

In addition to evaluation, investigation and management of allergic disorders, you will have a key role in provision of clinical support and supervision for other professional staff including General Paediatricians, paediatric trainees, and nursing staff.

 

A demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and delivery of evidence-based best care is essential.  You will have well-developed professional communication and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to professional development of self and others.

You will develop and maintain strong relationships with relevant services at Western Health and with external partners, including the RCH Department of Allergy and Immunology.  The successful candidate must be available to work on Wednesdays  fortnightly when the allergy clinic currently runs.

 

This position is offeredn on a part-time (0.1 FTE) basis.

 

To be Successful in this Role, you will:

  • Have recognised qualifications as a Paediatric Allergist (FRACP).
  • Contribute to a positive organisational culture and role model professionalism with respect to patient dignity and compassion, effective communication, and ethical clinical care.
  • Actively participate in teaching and supervision of Junior Medical Staff, General Paediatricians, and Medical Students.
  • Ensure appropriate and timely documentation of patient care in progress notes and correspondence.
  • Be involved in service evaluation and audits and will be encouraged to be involved in research activities.
