About the role:
Our Community Paediatric Service is looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Paediatric Allied Health team in a full-time, permanent capacity. This is a fantastic opportunity for a new graduate or early-career clinician to launch their paediatric career in a supportive, well-established multidisciplinary team.
As a Grade 1 Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you'll work alongside experienced clinicians across occupational therapy, speech pathology, psychology, physiotherapy, dietetics and social work, providing family-centred, evidence-based assessment and intervention to children and their families. You'll receive structured supervision, a dedicated learning plan, and exposure to a broad and varied caseload, including developmental assessment, individual therapy, group programs, and multidisciplinary clinics. If you have an emerging interest in autism assessment, you'll have the opportunity to develop those skills with us.
The position is primarily based at Western Health's Melton and Caroline Springs sites, supporting children and families living in the Brimbank, Melton and Moorabool regions, one of Victoria's fastest growing and most diverse communities.
What we offer you:
- A formal Grade 1 supervision structure with weekly 1:1s and protected time for case review
- A dedicated professional development plan and access to in-service education
- A broad, varied paediatric caseload that builds your skills quickly
- Exposure to multidisciplinary and specialist clinics, including autism assessment
- A welcoming, collaborative team that genuinely invests in new clinicians
- Salary packaging benefits and access to the Western Health Learning Academy
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based paediatric occupational therapy under the support and supervision of experienced clinicians
- Undertake assessments and develop individualised intervention plans in collaboration with families and the multidisciplinary team
- Contribute to a range of paediatric programs and clinics across Community Health and Melton Health
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, reports, and data entry in line with organisational and funding requirements
- Engage actively in supervision, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development
About you:
- Hold a tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current (or eligibility for) AHPRA registration
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in working with children and families
- Bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to learn within a multidisciplinary team
- New graduates and clinicians in their first years of practice are warmly encouraged to apply
