Are you a Paediatrician looking to maintain some neonatal skills? Or perhaps you are a Neonatologist looking to supplement your experience by working in a small regional service.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Paediatrician or Neonatologist to join our multidisciplinary team at our Bacchus Marsh campus. Enjoy the benefits of working with a great team in a regional service, but within commuting distance of Melbourne, Ballarat, or Geelong. The Melton and Bacchus Marsh region is one of the most rapidly growing areas in Melbourne with significant migration in the last few years, and the new Melton Hospital is expected to open in the next few years.

The General Paediatrician or Neonatologist will provide care for neonates in the 3 bed, level 2 - 3 special care nursery at Bacchus Marsh Hospital. The maternity service delivers approximately 600 babies per year and the SCN cares for infants from 37 weeks gestation, in line with the Level 3 maternity service.  Care for infants in the SCN is provided up to a Level 3 framework.  The unit is serviced 24 hours/day by obstetricians, anaesthetists, and paediatricians.  Escalation pathways exist to the tertiary newborn services unit at Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s at Sunshine Hospital, and PIPER supports the retrieval of any unwell neonates requiring advanced care. There is a strong collegiate approach from the multidisciplinary team and there are ample opportunities for peer discussion. Family-friendly accommodation is provided at Bacchus Marsh free of charge for on call periods, which are remunerated generously.

General paediatric, neonatal, and developmental paediatric clinics are provided at Bacchus Marsh hospital in a busy paediatric ambulatory service. The Paediatrician or Neonatologist will conduct clinics relevant to their specialty, and will supervise junior medical staff in these clinics.
