Patient Liaison Officer
Western Health has an opportunity available for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join the Patient Liaison Team on a 9-day fortnight, the role will be based at our Sunshine campus with 1 day per week at our Footscray campus.
We are seeking an individual that is team oriented and passionate about providing excellent customer service to all internal and external stakeholders whilst helping to drive successful revenue outcomes.
About The Role:
- Extensive communication with patients, family, carers and hospital staff
- Fast paced Customer Service role in busy Public Hospital setting
- To determine the correct patient classification including Medicare ineligible patients
- Obtain patient information such as patient health insurance fund details
- Having financial discussions and obtaining paperwork and payments
- Liasing with health funds to determine patient eligibility
- Being responsible for the revenue recovery of Medicare Ineligible patients; this role actively promotes patients to pay upfront for their hospital journey in a timely manner to satisfy revenue department requirements
About You:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Help drive successful revenue outcomes
- Health fund or previous PLO experience preferred
- Competency to interpret/analyse data
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport, negotiate and form relationships with patients and staff at all levels
- Being a team player and showing problem solving initiative
- Adaptable
