Western Health is seeking a permanent, full time Grade 1 Pharmacy Technician to join the Pharmacy team.

 

Under the direction of a registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists with the provision of ward services; provide courier services; assist with clinical trials; store duties; purchasing; manufacturing (including sterile, non-sterile and cytotoxic) and pre-packing operations. The pharmacy technicians also provide imprest and requisition services (restricted and non-restricted) to designated wards and departments and assist with the dispensing of prescriptions for inpatient and outpatient clients.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Commitment to work towards a Certificate III in Hospital Pharmacy
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to customer service by understanding who the customers of the pharmacy service are and respond willingly and pleasantly to customer enquiries
  • An ability to work as a team member
  • A commitment to continuous quality improvement processes and ongoing change
  • Demonstrated initiative and motivation
  • General computer skills
  • A willingness to work, if required, at any site of Western Health
