Physiotherapist (Grade 2) - Aged and Complex Care

About the role
We are seeking enthusiastic physiotherapists to join our Acute Aged Care and General Medicine team at Footscray Hospital in a Grade 2 position within our Aged and Complex Care stream.
This is a temporary part time position until September 2025 (0.8 FTE).
Our Aged and Complex Care stream has a strong focus on patient and family centred care, implementing evidence-based therapy to achieve excellent patient outcomes that support independence, community participation, and quality of life.
Key responsibilities:
- Working in Acute Aged Care and General Medicine, you will use your skills in discharge planning, person-centred care, and collaboration with the Multidisciplinary Team to deliver Best Care to a variety of patient cohorts including acute and chronic respiratory illnesses, heart failure, post falls management, functional decline, frailty, and other complex co-morbidities.
- Learning and development are integral in the culture of our department, and we will support you to build you clinical, supervision and leadership skills. We will encourage you to participate in our Research and Quality program and contribute to our stream portfolios and department committees. Physiotherapists at Western Health are also encouraged in career development and planning through the Allied Health workforce development program.
About you:
- Have well developed clinical skills for working in the acute medical clinical area, with a particular focus on complex discharge planning and aged related conditions. Hospital experience is essential.
- Have an interest in supervision and training physiotherapy staff and students
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Work collaboratively with the Physiotherapy and Multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure safe and high-quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and Live Best Care framework
