About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Grade 2 Physiotherapist to join our Cardiorespiratory team with opportunities to rotate across the acute settings.  

 

Our Grade 2 Cardiorespiratory physiotherapists rotate through multiple clinical areas at Footscray and Sunshine hospitals, giving you the opportunity develop and refine your cardiorespiratory skills across a variety of clinical caseloads and complex patient cohorts. Rotations involve intensive care, special and general medicine, short stay unit, surgical, respiratory and oncology.   

 

These are well-supported positions and provide opportunity for training and development of your clinical, supervision and leadership skills, joining a team that is dedicated to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.  Grade 2 Physiotherapists at Western Health participate in our Research and Quality program and contribute to our stream portfolios and department committees. In this role you will be supported by experienced Grade 3 and 4 Physiotherapists and encouraged in your ongoing professional development.  We have a strong research focus with a number of PhD candidates within our cardiorespiratory team and exciting opportunities for involvement in small and larger scale research projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Well-developed assessment and treatment skills in the delivery of evidence-based person centred Physiotherapy services in Cardiorespiratory cohort
  • Working as part of an innovative and energetic physiotherapy department and multidisciplinary teams
  • Sound communication and organisational skills are essential for this position
  • Involved in supervision of Grade 1 physiotherapist and physiotherapy students 
  • Ensure safe and high-quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and Live Best Care framework

  • Have well-developed acute and cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy clinical skills as well as experience in supervising staff and students
