About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Physiotherapist to join our team in Grade 3 Musculoskeletal Adult Advanced Practice role/s.

  • Grade 3 Physiotherapy position/s; part-time/full-time ongoing

We are particularly looking for a clinician who has experience in an Emergency Department/Fracture Clinic primary contact role, although we will consider all experienced Advanced Practice Physiotherapists. 

 

Key responsibilities:

This position/s involves using your well consolidated skills and expertise to provide best care to the patients of the West, including assessment and management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, fracture management, radiological ordering and interpretation. The role/s, based on the applicant, may include shift and weekend shift work. 

 

The Adult Advance Practice Musculoskeletal team offer a range of services including:

  •  Virtual Fracture Clinic 
  •  Physiotherapy Led Orthopaedic Screening Clinic 
  •  Physiotherapy Led Neurosurgical Screening Clinic 
  •  Osteoarthritis Hip & Knee Service (OAHKS) 
  •  Primary contact within the Emergency Department 
  •  Non-Weight Bearing Coordinator 

 

You will be part of the expanding Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team who are dedicated to providing holistic patient-centred care, delivering excellent patient outcomes, and providing evidence-based practice. You will have the opportunity to provide leadership and strategic direction within the team and be involved in research and quality improvement activities, while working collaboratively with other senior clinicians. You will receive supervision from Grade 4 Physiotherapists and be well supported in developing your clinical, leadership, supervision and research skills. Grade 3 Physiotherapists at Western Health contribute to our Education and Training programs within the Physiotherapy service.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Be committed to providing excellent patient care 
  • Have well-developed skills in provision of care to musculoskeletal patients in an outpatient and/ or Advanced Practice capacity, including assessment and management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, fracture management, radiological ordering and interpretation.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Work collaboratively with the Physiotherapy, specialty and multidisciplinary teams 
  • Ensure safe and high-quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies
