Join Western Health’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Services as the Principal Psychologist and provide strategic leadership across the Mental Health & Wellbeing Psychology workforce. This pivotal role spans Sunshine, Footscray, Melton, Sunbury, and beyond—impacting diverse communities and future-focused services.
About the Role
As the Principal Psychologist, you will:
- Lead the coordination and delivery of evidence-based psychological care across the Mental Health & Wellbeing Division.
- Drive professional standards, clinical supervision, recruitment, and workforce planning for psychologists.
- Provide expert consultation, support critical incidents, and foster a culture of clinical excellence and innovation.
- Champion psychological research, education, and workforce capability.
- Promote co-design with consumers, carers, and lived experience staff.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of psychology experience in specialist mental health settings.
- Proven leadership in clinical supervision, psychological service delivery, and quality and/or research initiatives.
- Expertise in complex mental health care, including assessment, care coordination, and therapeutic interventions.
- Strong collaboration with lived experience workforce and commitment to recovery-oriented practice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Sound knowledge of mental health legislation, policy, and strategic frameworks.
