About the role:
Western Health is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to step into the pivotal role of Program Director - Medical Education. This senior clinical position will be at the forefront of shaping the future of medical education across our rapidly evolving and diverse health service.
This is a significant leadership opportunity for an experienced medical educator who brings not only deep clinical credibility and educational expertise, but the ability to lead change, think strategically and operate effectively across large and complex systems.
Key responsibilities:
- In this role, you will guide a newly restructured department built around excellence, collaboration and sustainability.
- This includes driving integration across divisions, fostering partnerships with universities and specialist colleges and ensuring Western Health exceeds accreditation standards.
- With a clear focus on educational innovation, workforce alignment and future-ready training, you will have the platform to lead transformative change.
About you:
We are seeking a candidate who combines strategic insight with operational experience to deliver impact. Someone with a proven track record in leading large scale education programs and the ability to influence and engage at senior levels across the health and education sectors.

We also operate Sunbury Community Hospital, Sunshine Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre, Melton Health and Community Services, Bacchus Marsh Community Health Centre, Caroline Springs Community Health Centre and Grant Lodge Residential Aged Care in Bacchus Marsh. Western Health also provides the primary healthcare service at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, a women’s prison located in Ravenhall.
