Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse – Mental Health & Wellbeing Services

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Services team are committed to supporting staff wellbeing in a dynamic, busy environment and support professional development through partnerships with external training providers. 

 

To be successful for this role, you will have/be: 

  • Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA 

  • Completed a Diploma in Nursing 

  • Medically Endorsed (s/c, IM, enteral, topical routes) in addition to base qualification 

  • A minimum of 2 years nursing experience, including 12 months mental health experience in a mental health clinical setting 

  • Demonstrated understanding of working with mental health consumers, including appropriate supports, therapeutic engagement, assessment and evidence-based interventions 

  • Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2014 

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to work a 7 day a week rotating roster (AM, PM & Nights) 

  • Possess excellent clinical skills

The Sunshine Mental Health and Wellbeing Centre is a multi-level facility with two Mental Health Adult Acute Units, each comprising of 26 beds across Intensive Care Area, Medium Care Area and General Care Area.  

The Psychiatric Enrolled Nurse plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, recovery-orientated care to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Working in a multidisciplinary team, the PEN provides nursing interventions- including medication administration, risk assessment, therapeutic engagement and discharged planning.
