About the role 

Western Health is seeking a Grade 2 MRI Radiographer who will also rotate through General Xray and other modalities. The Radiographer will participate in 24/7 rostering and on-call services. The successful candidate will assist with radiography student supervision and mentoring junior radiographers, along with participation in quality improvement projects.

 

Join Western Health's dynamic Medical Imaging team, where you'll:

  • Demonstrate MRI Expertise: Conducting MRI scans using 1.5T and 3T scanners, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to protocols. 
  • Perform Diagnostic Imaging: Conduct high-quality X-ray, CT, and MRI examinations in line with Western Health policies and procedures.
  • Engage in Roster Rotation: Participate in rotating 24/7 shifts across General X-ray, CT, and MRI modalities, including On-Call
  • Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with radiologists, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Contribute to Quality Assurance: Uphold departmental protocols and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and Educate: Supervise and support junior staff and students, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Rostered to MRI, Generals and other imaging modalities, across all shifts 24/7
  • Participate in on-call services
  • Participate in qualiy improvement projects to improve patient care and comply with mandatory reporting and policies
  • Assist with supervision of radiography students and provide mentoring to junior radiographers

 

About you: 

  • Bachelor’s in Medical Radiation Science or equivalent
  • AHPRA registration & Victorian Radiation Use Licence
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Previous MRI experience; along with X‑ray & CT
