Role Summary:

  • Employment Type: Part-Time (48 hours/fortnight), Fixed Term (until October 2027)
  • Salary: Grade 2 RN or RM + Superannuation + Salary Packaging

 

About the role:

We are seeing a compassionate, skilled and values driven Registered Nurse or Midwife (RN/RM) to provide expert care within our Reproductive Choices (abortion care) Service.

 

This role is a pivotal role for an experienced women's health nurse/midwife who is committed to delivering safe, evidenced-based, person centred care including abortion care within a supportive and multidisciplinary environment.

This is a 12-month role, with 0.4 to 0.6 FTE available.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively within the midwifery/nursing team model of care using delegation, supervision, coordination, consultation and referrals.
  • Provide evidence-based knowledge to the termination of pregnancy service within women’s health across Western Health.
  • Coordinate discharge planning in liaison with medical and allied health as well as hospital/community services.

 

About you:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualification or equivalent clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated skills in Women’s Health nursing.
  • Strong leadership and management capability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to safe, high-quality, person-centred abortion care.
  • Experience within Women’s Health.
  • Valid Australian working rights.
  • Strong preference for previous abortion or sexual health clinical experience.
