About the role 

Cancer Services provides a range of services including Day Oncology, Radiotherapy, Oncology Hospital in the Home and Inpatient Oncology care. Cancer Services at Western health operates at Sunshine and Sunbury Hospital and is currently offering the following exciting opportunities: 

 

Registered Nurse – Chemotherapy Day Unit 

Sunshine Hospital 

  • Ongoing part-time position available 

  • Fixed-term part-time position until April 2026 available 

  

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Oncology trained Registered Nurse to join our Chemotherapy Day Unit. The successful applicant will at the forefront of the provision of high-quality nursing care provided to oncology patients on a day-to-day basis. 

  

The Registered Nurse administers chemotherapy, immunotherapy and other therapeutic treatment to patients affected by cancer, provides patient education and symptom management. 

  

To be successful in this role, you: 

  • Will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in oncology/haematology 

  • Competency in the administration of antineoplastic drugs (eviQ ADAC competency or equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years oncology clinical experience 

  • Successful completion of all eviQ modules 

  • Certification in chemotherapy administration via an approved course 

  • Will possess excellent clinical skills and interpersonal skills 

  • Have well developed written and verbal communication skills 

  • Proven ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary health care team 

  • Will be competent in CVAD and IVC management (highly desirable)
