Registered Nurse - Cardiac Care Services: Cardiac Care Unit

About the role
We are seeking a post graduate qualified Cardiac Nurse who is passionate about cardiac care and motivated to provide best care for our patients to join us in Sunshine CCU. This position is offered as part time at 64 hours a fortnight, however candidates who would prefer different hours are also desirable. Successful candidates will demonstrate outstanding clinical skills, knowledge, interpersonal skills, time management skills, as well as the ability to lead by example.
Sunshine CCU is a 30-bed integrated Cardiac and Surgical unit, supported by onsite 24 hours Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratories (CCL) and Intensive Care Unit. As well as managing acute cardiac conditions, the unit offer an unique model of care in managing heart failure. This program is a collaborative service led by Cardiology and Geriatric Medicine, incorporating heart failure clinical nurse consultants within the multi-disciplinary team.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure safe and high-quality patient care is delivered in line with Western Health values and policies.
- Promote ongoing professional development for self and all staff in the unit.
- Able to act as nurse in charge of unit when required.
- Provide exceptional care to patients in acute Cardiac Care setting.
- Competent in Advanced Life Support (ALS) to facilitate care and transport of monitored patients.
About you:
- Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration
- Completed a Bachelor of Nursing qualification or equivalent
- Completed the Postgraduate qualifications in Cardiac/Critical Care Nursing
- Excellent clinical, communication and problem-solving skills
- Able to work a 7-day rotating roster (AM, PM, ND)
