About the role

Are you ready to take your career to the next level?  We’re opening a new state-of-the-art specialised medical ward that brings together expertise across Respiratory, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology, Renal Medicines, Nephrology and Endocrinology – offering exceptional opportunities to learn, collaborate, and deliver high-quality, complex care; and enhance in specialised skills like Non-Invasive Ventilation, Peritoneal Dialysis, and Chronic Wound Management.  You will be supported by expert educators in these specialised fields, and supplemental upskilling will be provided throughout your career. 

 

About the ward

7A is a new 32-bed multidisciplinary unit designed to care for patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions.  You’ll work alongside a diverse team of highly skilled nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals, fostering a strong learning culture and team-based approach to patient-centred care.

About you:

  • Successful completion of Bachelor of Nursing
  • Registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum 12 months’ working experience within an acute Australian hospital setting (not including placements)
  • Experience within at least one of the medical specialty areas of the ward (Respiratory, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology, Renal Medicines, Nephrology and Endocrinology). (Please specify in Cover Letter). 
  • Demonstrate the ability to practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A commitment to high quality care and to maintaining a culture of patient centred care
  • Excellent and effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Possess excellent clinical skills
  • Commitment to participate in a 7-day rotating roster, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong command of electronic medical records (EMR) and computer skills
