We are seeking an experienced part-time clinical research nurse (research coordinator) to join a dynamic and collaborative research team in supporting research activity for the Departments of Intensive Care, Anaesthesia, Pain & Perioperative Medicine at Western Health.  


The Departments of Intensive Care, Anaesthesia, Pain & Perioperative Medicine provide a unique, collaborative, multi-discipline research unit with diverse and expansive research interests.  

 

The successful applicant will be well supported, working with an experienced research manager and a team of excellent clinical research nurses.  We strive to improve patient centred outcomes by conducting investigator led single-centre or multi-centre trials, as well as audits and industry sponsored pharmaceutical trials.  

 

The research team provide 24hr support to facilitate clinical trials across a population of critically unwell patients.  

 

The successful applicant may be required to be available to provide on call support if required to support specific research trial activity if/when needed. 
 

The Clinical Research Nurse will have responsibility for the delivery of direct and indirect clinical trial related care of patients and associated research activities to ensure a high quality service that meets the needs of patients and clients with adherence to legislative requirements of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) Note for Guidance on Good Clinical Practice (CPMP/ICH/135/95), the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research and applicable state/federal privacy laws.

Applicants with critical care nursing skills in either ICU and/or anaesthesia disciplines and experience in research trial delivery are encouraged to apply.
