About the Role:

Western Health is seeking an experienced Revenue Services Officer to join our Revenue Services team on a part-time, fixed-term contract until the end of June 2027, working Monday to Friday during school hours.

 

This role will be based out of our Braybrook Hub and is a great opportunity for someone seeking part-time work within a supportive healthcare environment.

 

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in public health billing, with strong attention to detail, sound administrative skills, and the ability to work confidently across billing processes in a busy health service setting.

 

You will work closely with a Senior Revenue Services Officer who specialises in Medicare ineligible billing, providing support across revenue-related tasks, billing follow-up, account review, and general administrative functions to assist with accurate and timely revenue outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

The Revenue Services Officer will be responsible for supporting the Revenue Services team with a range of billing and administrative functions, including:

  • Supporting Medicare ineligible billing processes, including account review, follow-up and data entry.
  • Assisting with billing tasks to ensure accurate and timely processing of patient accounts.
  • Supporting TAC patients with their claims, including lodging claims where required and entering, identifying and confirming approved claim numbers.
  • Reviewing patient and billing information to identify missing or incomplete details.
  • Following up outstanding information with patients, internal teams, health funds, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Supporting with billing investigations, account corrections and general revenue tasks.
  • Assisting with invoice preparation, billing documentation and account enquiries.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with Western Health procedures, privacy requirements and relevant compliance obligations.
  • Providing professional and helpful communication to patients, staff and external stakeholders.

 

About You: 

  • Experience working in a hospital or health accounts environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate skills in Excel and Word.
  • High accuracy, strong numerical skills and effective task prioritisation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills that align with our organisational values.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
